Alas, I was premature in my moving timeline! We are well under way, a phrase I’ve become well acquainted with. Our aim is to move around the 18th of July (09 for the clever clogs!), I hadn’t allowed for all the nitty gritty things like a back door and water…
As a consequence of the move, I have to pay tribute to two key members of the team, with whom we had to part ways. They have been with us since 2001 and they practically ate, slept and drank in Lisdoonan. Their dedication and work rate saved a lot of time gardening. Occasionally, we were forced to rein them in, but generally it was for their own good, as they didn’t know when to stop! Their postive friendly attitude made them an attractive asset to Lisdoonan. The odd nay the only dissent. We’re glad to report that they have found new pastures and that far away hills are greener. So long Milly and Billy, we hope carrots and apples are plentiful in Magheracloone…

What with the attention on the Leaving Cert this year we felt we were missing out by not doing an exam. So we decided to do the Google Exams. It brought me right back, with the exception of the laptop, the rain and parental pressure! After diligently doing the exam, I’m happy to report that both myself and Breda McGuigan are Google Qualified Individuals. Visit Aura Internet’s website at www.aura.ie

The President Mary McAleese launched the MTEK 2 Building in Monaghan Town this morning. The building which was developed by the Monaghan County Enterprise Fund is the second building at the Knockaconny site just outside Monaghan Town on the Armagh Road. The President praised the Fund for investing in the economy and employment at a time when its most needed. The Fund presented the President with a handwoven scarf from Liz Christy.
Monaghan County Enterprise Fund is made up of a number of non paid directors who oversee the building and management of a number of Enterprise Buildings in Monaghan including Clones, MTEK 1 and the Enterprise Centre in Ballybay. I’ve been involved in the Fund for a number of years now and would like to congratulate my colleagues on the board on the developments to date!
